Welcome Back Wildcats
from your Woodland Springs PTA!

Welcome to Woodland Springs Elementary. It is our goal to work as a team with our staff, students and parent community to continue making this a great place to live and learn! Through family events, Wildcat Math and Programs, we will continue to make it a priority to enrich your child’s educational experience.  Your involvement and feedback is strongly encouraged. Through your membership, you will have the opportunity to be an advocate for your child’s needs and ideas for our campus. Without your support, these programs are not possible. Please consider joining PTA and look for opportunities to get involved and let your voice be heard.

In addition to our school, your PTA membership of $8.00 gives you opportunities for resources and discounts throughout the state and community. Check out www.txpta.org for more details. I hope you will take the time to join PTA and check out our new website for communication and ways to get involved in your child’s education. We would love to hear from you, and have you join our team. Feel free to contact us with any questions, concerns or ideas. You can reach us at wsespta@yahoo.com

History of the Texas PTA

Established in 1909 by Ella Caruthers Porter, a single mother from Hillsboro, Texas, Texas PTA is among the largest and oldest child advocacy groups in the state.  Over 630,000 parents, teachers, and students join almost 3000 Local PTAs every year in Texas to support their student, their school, and children across this state and nation.  The local volunteers and the staff in Austin focus their efforts on helping those PTAs be as successful as they can be.

History of the National PTA

For more than a 100 years, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has provided support, information and resources to families focused on the health and education of children. The organization was founded in 1897 in Washington DC as the National Congress of Mothers by Alice McLellan Birney and Phoebe Apperson Hearst. If not for these women and their vision and determination, there would not be a PTA—an organization that has been woven into the very fabric of American life.
